Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to stabilize the front within the next few days. But Russians will launch a new offensive further north of Kharkiv, in the Sumy region, – the head of GUR MOU Budanov told the NYT.
“The situation is on the edge. The purpose of this “offensive” is to stretch the already “meager reserves” of Ukrainian soldiers and distract them from participating in hostilities in other regions”, – he said.
Russian forces have so far occupied about five kilometres straight into Ukrainian territory in Kharkiv region, creating a bridgehead for troops and equipment, according to DeepState map.
