Ukraine has already received the first F-16 aircraft, which the Netherlands had previously promised. The state will also provide various types of drones for the needs of the Armed Forces for 400 million euros, Suspilne reports.

This was announced by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans on the social network X.

For the first time, I can officially announce that the first Dutch F-16s have been delivered to Ukraine. This is urgently needed. In Kharkiv, I saw the damage caused by Russian air strikes and heard frequent air raids. The remaining 24 aircraft will arrive in the coming months, – the official said in a post.

In addition, in another post, Brekelmans said that the Netherlands continues to play a “leading role in supporting Ukraine”, and that is why he is announcing an action plan on drones.

We will provide 400 million euros worth of advanced drones. For reconnaissance, defense and attack. Almost half of them will be developed in the Netherlands, – he said in his post.

It is worth recalling that on October 6, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans arrived in Ukraine on an unannounced visit and visited Kharkiv. He also met with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. According to Umerov, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation within the aviation coalition. In particular, on crew training and the supply of weapons and spare parts for F-16 aircraft.
