Russian forces launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine’s critical and civilian infrastructure on the night of April 25. The attack targeted several regions, including Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Kyiv. The shelling resulted in at least four deaths and over 30 injuries across the country.

The Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Ganzha, reported that the city faced nearly twelve hours of continuous strikes.
Large-scale fires broke out following the explosions. Russian missiles damaged local enterprises, a four-story apartment building, and private homes. A nine-year-old boy was among the victims. The State Emergency Service reported that rescuers saved 30 people from a partially destroyed building.
Meanwhile, the enemy targeted other regions as well. In Bila Tserkva, Kyiv region, the city council secretary, Volodymyr Vovkotrub, reported a fire at the site of fallen debris. An airstrike in Shostka, Sumy region, destroyed an infrastructure facility and damaged nine houses. The Odesa region also sustained heavy damage. Regional head Oleh Kiper reported that the strike hit the port infrastructure and injured two civilians.
Furthermore, Russian forces hit a hospital in the Chernihiv region and a residential area in Kharkiv. In Kharkiv’s Nemyshlyanskyi district, a man and a toddler required medical assistance. Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops attacked eight settlements in the Kharkiv region.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s reaction
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a sharp response to the nightly terror. He reported that Russia continues to use its standard tactics of destruction.
“The Russians’ tactics remain unchanged: strike drones, cruise missiles, and a significant amount of ballistics. Most of the targets are ordinary infrastructure in cities. Residential buildings, energy facilities, and enterprises have been damaged,” the President stated.
He urged international partners to accelerate the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense and implement the 21st sanctions package.
Scale of the aerial assault
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that radar systems detected 666 air targets. Russia launched 47 missiles and 619 drones of various types. Air defense units successfully intercepted 610 targets, including 30 missiles and 580 drones.

Specifically, defenders shot down 26 Kh-101 cruise missiles and 4 Kalibr missiles. However, hits were recorded at 23 different locations. The main direction of the strike was the city of Dnipro. The rescue operation is ongoing, as five people may still be trapped under the rubble.
