During the night of March 14, Russian forces launched a massive combined strike against Ukraine’s critical and civilian infrastructure. Occupiers used nearly 500 aerial weapons, including ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones. The Kyiv region suffered the most significant impact, where the attack killed four people and injured 15 others.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russia launched a total of 498 air targets. This number included 68 missiles and 430 drones of various types. Ukrainian air defense units demonstrated high effectiveness, intercepting 460 targets. Specifically, they downed one Zircon hypersonic missile, 25 Kalibr cruise missiles, and 402 combat drones.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the Kyiv region’s energy sector was the primary target. Despite successful interceptions, debris and direct hits caused destruction in the Obukhiv, Vyshhorod, and Bucha districts. Damages occurred in residential buildings, two schools, and a kindergarten. Consequently, emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv this morning.
Devastation in Brovary and Other Regions
The situation in the Brovary district proved especially severe. Mayor Ihor Sapozhko reported that the missile strike in Brovary killed two people. The attack damaged two private houses, a dormitory, and various office and production buildings. Additionally, the strike hit a restaurant in Pohreby village, a garage cooperative, and numerous private vehicles. The number of residents seeking medical assistance continues to rise.

Beyond the capital area, Russian troops targeted the Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions. In the Zaporizhzhia district, a strike on a residential house injured four people, including two children aged 11 and 16. In the Kharkiv region, Russian missiles wounded two Ukrzaliznytsia employees during their shift. The State Emergency Service confirmed that rescue operations continued throughout the night.
Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, stated that three victims remain in critical condition and are undergoing surgery. Local authorities have established assistance centers for residents of damaged buildings. While engineers work to restore the power grid, the situation in the Kyiv region remains difficult due to the massive scale of the strikes.
Previously, The Ukrainian Review reported on a deadly Russian drone strike against a civilian enterprise in Kharkiv earlier this week.
