Pro-Russian Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico was shot in front of the Handlova House of Culture, he is being taken to the hospital. There was government meeting, when the prime minister came among the people, according to dennikn.sk.
Fico came to the people who were welcoming him, and that’s when several shots were fired. Fico then fell to the ground.
The alleged assailant was pacified and detained by the police. The police cordoned off the area, the cultural center was evacuated. Security took care of the safety of the other members of the government.
According to Slovak mass media, Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot 2-3 times, allegedly in the limbs, chest and stomach.
The publication Plus JEDEN DEN adds that Fico’s condition is very serious. He is currently in a helicopter that is taking him to a hospital in Banska Bystrica.
Fico is in life-threatening condition. Everything will be decided in the coming hours, – official message on the prime minister’s page.
