Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has said that his “peace mission” to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war is not yet complete. According to him, new “convincing” initiatives to achieve peace are planned to be presented in September.

He told journalists about this during his visit to the city of Ketche, Hromadske reports.

According to him, in early July, he wrote what should be done according to his peace plan. According to Orbán, if his recommendations had been taken into account in the European Union at that time, it would have avoided escalation over the next two to three months.

If you compare the situation [in the Russian-Ukrainian war] in early July with the current situation in September, things have gotten much worse than they were then, – he said.

At the same time, the Hungarian prime minister said that his “peace mission” is not over. He said that in the summer, he worked on some “convincing” initiatives “at the international level”, some of which will be announced in September.

In July, Orbán sent a letter to the EU leaders with his own “peace plan” to resolve Russia’s war against Ukraine.

According to him, if Europe wants peace and wants to have a decisive voice in the settlement of the war, it “must now develop and implement a change of direction”.
