NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the decision on peace talks and acceptable conditions is a matter for Ukraine, Radio Svoboda reports.
It is Ukraine’s business to decide what are the acceptable conditions for a negotiated solution and what can be the conditions for joining negotiations with Russia. It is the business of Ukraine, the business of Volodymyr Zelenskyy to make such decisions. We should focus on what NATO can do, which is to strengthen Ukraine by providing sufficient military support, – he said at a press conference in Brussels.
According to Mark Rutte, strengthening Ukraine’s position is the only way to end the war.
The only way to do this is to convince Putin that he cannot win on the battlefield. It’s a paradox, but to reach an agreement, we have to make sure that Ukraine is strong and that there are very good security guarantees, – the NATO Secretary General said.
In this context, he recalled the meeting in the Ramstein format scheduled for Saturday. At the same time, it is not yet known whether the meeting will take place on Saturday, as U.S. President Joe Biden, who was supposed to chair the Ramstein meeting, canceled his trip to Germany due to the approach of Hurricane Milton.
