US Vice President Kamala Harris has announced that she intends to run for the US presidency instead of Joe Biden, who announced that he was withdrawing from the presidential race, Suspilne infoms.

Harris added that “with this unselfish and patriotic act of dropping out of the race, President Biden is doing what he has done his entire life: putting the American people and our country first”.
In her statement, Harris praised President Biden for his accomplishments in office.
His remarkable legacy of accomplishment is unmatched in modern American history, surpassing that of many two-term presidents, – Harris wrote.
In addition, in her statement, Ms. Harris said she would continue to speak about the “clear choice” facing the American people in November.

According to The New York Times, Democratic donors immediately mobilized around Kamala Harris as their party’s next presidential candidate. In addition, after the announcement of Biden’s withdrawal from the race, Americans raised $46.7 million for Harris’ campaign.
