On July 16, the International Monetary Fund team starts working in Kyiv.

A team of IMF experts led by Gavin Gray begins meetings in Kyiv today with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and other partners. The discussions will focus on the government’s fiscal plans for the second half of this year and the medium term, – he said.

Earlier in early July, Ukraine received $2.2 billion from the International Monetary Fund, which was approved on June 28.
In late June, the IMF reported that the IMF Board of Directors had completed the fourth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program for Ukraine, deciding to allocate about $2.2 billion to Ukraine, and these funds will be used for budget support.
In April of this year, the IMF said that the Ukrainian government would need $42 billion in budget support this year amid the ongoing Russian invasion.
