Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has outpaced her Republican opponent Donald Trump in a national poll, Espreso reports.

According to a CBS News poll, 50% of voters support Harris, while 49% support Trump. Meanwhile, in key states, their chances are equal.

The journalists reported that Harris has additional advantages over the electorate that incumbent US President Joe Biden did not have, as she is ahead of Trump also because she is considered a person with good cognitive health.

At the same time, the publication notes that Trump’s popularity among voters remains unchanged. They claim that they will live better financially with him and that his policies will lead to “a reduction in the number of migrants at the border.”

The journalists emphasized that the next few weeks could be decisive in the election race.

The CBS News/YouGov poll was conducted from July 30 to August 2 with a representative sample of 3,102 registered voters in all states.

In addition, on July 25, Fox News invited Trump and Harris to hold a debate in Pennsylvania. However, Trump did not agree to the debate because, in his words, “he is leading in the polls.” However, he later agreed to the TV channel’s proposal, but Harris insisted on debating on ABC News.
