The European Union has already provided Ukraine with 108 billion euros in aid, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said, Radiosvoboda reports.
The EU has been supporting Ukraine since the first day of Russian aggression. Together with our member states, we have provided support in the amount of almost 108 billion euros. Ukraine will win this war for survival, – she wrote on the social network X.
In addition, Ursula von der Leyen reiterated the assurance popular among Western partners that the EU will be with Ukraine as long as it takes.
As a reminder, in May, the EU Council adopted a plan for the Ukraine Facility, which defines the intentions of the Ukrainian government to restore, reconstruct and modernize the country, as well as the reforms it plans to implement as part of the EU accession process over the next four years. This step made it possible to start regular disbursements under the €50 billion Fund for Ukraine.
Also, on August 6, it became known that the Council of the European Union approved the allocation of 4.2 billion euros under the Ukraine Facility macro-financial assistance program. The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine noted that the funds will be used for priority social and humanitarian expenditures of the state budget.
