Zelenskyy meets with Indian Prime Minister Modi in the United States

In New York, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It is noted that Zelenskyy and Modi discussed the implementation of cooperation in the areas agreed upon during the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Kyiv a month ago. Then they talked about intensifying trade, economic and defense cooperation, involving India in post–war reconstruction, as well as cooperation in education, science and culture.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to strengthening cooperation on international platforms, in particular within the UN and the G20, as well as to the implementation of the Peace Formula and preparations for the second Peace Summit.

Zelenskyy also thanked India for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Russia will not participate in the second peace summit – Russian Foreign Ministry

Russia will not participate in the second Peace Summit, which Kyiv plans to hold by the end of 2024, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Russian representatives have not participated in any meetings within the framework of the “Burgenstock process” and do not intend to. This process itself has nothing to do with the settlement, – she said when asked about the second Peace Summit.

According to Zakharova, the goal of the new summit is to “push through the absolutely unviable ‘Zelenskyy formula’ as a non-alternative basis for resolving the conflict,” to gain the support of the “world majority” and “on its behalf to put forward an ultimatum of surrender to Russia”.

The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also spoke about “another manifestation of the fraud of the Anglo-Saxons and their Ukrainian puppets.”

At the same time, Zakharova stated that Russia was ready to discuss “really serious proposals that take into account the situation on the ground, the emerging geopolitical realities, and the corresponding initiative formulated by Putin on June 14,” which was voiced by him on the eve of the first Peace Summit and looks like a proposal for Ukraine’s surrender.

Leaders of the United States, India, Japan and Australia call for peace in Ukraine

In their joint statement, the leaders of the Quad countries (Australia, India, Japan, and the United States) emphasized the importance of upholding international law and the principles of the UN Charter, including respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states. They expressed deep concern over the war in Ukraine and its devastating humanitarian consequences.

The Quad leaders, each of whom has visited Ukraine since the beginning of the war, emphasized the need to achieve a just and lasting peace that is in accordance with international law and the principles of the UN Charter.

In addition, the leaders noted the negative impact of the war on global food and energy security, especially for developing countries.

The Quad countries unanimously declared that the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable and called on all states to refrain from the use or threat of force against the sovereignty or territorial integrity of any country.

New Zealand imposes new sanctions against Russia and Belarus

New Zealand has imposed new sanctions on five people and six companies from Russia and Belarus.

This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, Winston Peters.

It is known that the sanctions include those who support Russia’s full-scale invasion and were involved in the occupation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the Russian military-industrial complex.

Sanctions against Belarusian figures are a joint effort with our like-minded international partners to condemn and hold accountable those who support Russia’s illegal actions, – the New Zealand government’s press service said.

They also noted that the occupation of Zaporizhzhia NPP by Russia threatens nuclear safety, so they called for its de-occupation.

Zelenskyy says at UN Security Council that Russia wants to attack Ukrainian NPPs

At a meeting of the UN Security Council, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia wants to attack Ukrainian nuclear power plants and Kyiv has evidence.

We are now approaching the third winter in this war and Russia is again trying to destroy our energy system. This time they are even more cynical, they have prepared to target our nuclear power plants. We have this information and evidence, – he said.

Zelenskyy added that if Russia is ready to go this far, it means that nothing is valuable to Moscow.

Trump also added that the United States is “giving billions of dollars” to a man who refuses to make a deal with Russia.

Bloomberg emphasizes that these comments by Donald Trump were some of the harshest public statements he has made about a full-scale war and the Ukrainian president.

This became known during a broadcast from the White House.
