The Defense Forces of Ukraine successfully struck the Yaroslavl oil refinery in northern Russia and destroyed military trains in the occupied territories. The operation took place between April 25 and April 26, 2026, causing a massive fire at the strategic facility.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian units hit several targets within Russia and temporarily occupied regions.
Impact of Strikes on Yaroslavl and Donetsk Regions
The Yaroslavl oil refinery is a critical component of Russia’s energy infrastructure. A significant fire broke out at the enterprise following the attack.
The General Staff highlighted the importance of this facility:
“The Yaroslavl oil refinery is a strategically important enterprise and one of the key facilities of the Russian oil refining industry.”
The refinery processes approximately 15 million tons of oil annually. It produces gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, all of which are vital for the logistics of the occupying forces. Officials are currently assessing the extent of the damage.
In addition to the strike in Russia, the Defense Forces hit two enemy military trains in the occupied Donetsk region. The strikes occurred near Menchuhove and Kelerivka. Furthermore, the military confirmed the success of earlier operations from April 24. A Kasta-2E1 radar station was hit in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region, and a Pantsir-S1 air defense system was destroyed in Mariupol.
The Defense Forces continue to eliminate the aggressor’s military potential systematically. Consistent strikes on refineries and logistics networks significantly limit the capabilities of Russian troops on the front lines.
