Li Hui, the Chinese government’s special representative for Eurasian affairs, has called on more countries to endorse its “peace plan” for Ukraine, Espreso reports.

According to the AP, China has held talks with Indonesia, Brazil, and South Africa. Li Hui said these countries are “important forces in promoting world peace” and share similar positions to China.

They have been in touch with both Russia and Ukraine and remain committed to a political settlement of the crisis through dialogue and negotiations, – the Chinese representative emphasized.

At the same time, he criticized the West’s support for Ukraine.

All parties are concerned that the West continues to ease the conditions for Ukraine to strike Russian territory with additional weapons. And recent developments on the battlefield have confirmed these concerns, – Li Hui said.

As a reminder, the Chinese Foreign Ministry has called on Russia and Ukraine to “adhere to de-escalation” amid the operation in the Kursk region.

China’s position on the Ukrainian issue is consistent and clear. The Chinese side calls on all parties to adhere to the three principles of de-escalation, namely the prohibition of the expansion of the battlefield, the escalation of hostilities and the incitement of fire by any party, – the statement said.

China also stated that it would continue to communicate with the international community to “play a constructive role in the political settlement of the crisis”.
