NATO summit

From July 9 to 11, the NATO Summit will take place in Washington, DC. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg outlined three key topics to be discussed at the Washington summit: deterrence and defense, support for Ukraine, and global partnership.

Ukraine did not hear the invitation to join the Alliance, but NATO countries said that Ukraine is on an “irreversible path” to membership. They emphasized that “Ukraine’s future is in NATO”.

In addition, the Alliance decided to establish a structure to coordinate security assistance and training for Ukraine (NSATU) and supported the establishment of the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC).
