The United States is ready to hold talks with Russia, as well as China and North Korea, to “reduce the nuclear threat”.
This was stated by US President Joe Biden during his congratulations to the Nobel Peace Prize winners, Hromadske reports.
He recalled his meeting with a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing who reminded him of the need to “move forward to finally and forever rid the world of nuclear weapons”.
That is why, according to him, the United States is in favor of negotiations with Russia, China and North Korea “without preconditions”.
Neither our countries nor the world benefits from delaying progress in reducing nuclear arsenals. Reducing the nuclear threat is important not in spite of the dangers of the modern world, but because of them, – Biden said.
He called for “drawing inspiration” from this year’s Nobel Peace Prize winners and recommitting to the “vital work of building a safer world”.
