U.S. President Joe Biden spoke at the Democratic Party convention in Chicago and summarized his achievements over 50 years of his political career. During his speech, he mentioned NATO expansion, the confrontation in the Middle East, and support for Ukraine, Hromadske reports.
According to the Voice of America, during his speech, he also spoke about his priorities in domestic policy: protecting the middle class, developing infrastructure and microchip production, creating jobs, efforts to reduce prescription drug prices, and more.
In terms of foreign policy, Biden criticized Trump and emphasized the importance of US leadership in the world, and stressed that “We will never bow down to Putin”.
Putin thought he would capture Kyiv in three days. Three years later, Ukraine is still free, – Biden added.
He also mentioned NATO expansion, saying that he had spent nearly 190 hours with European partners to strengthen the Alliance. According to Biden, he managed to unite Europe, “which has not happened for years”.
In addition, the current US president said that his administration is working to end the war between Israel and Hamas, as well as to supply humanitarian aid.
I gave you the best of my 50 years. I hope you know how grateful I am to all of you, – the president said.
He concluded his speech with words from the US national anthem: “America, I gave you my best”.
