Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in the G7 summit in Italy on June 13-15, Babel writes.

Serhiy Nikiforov, the president’s spokesman, said in a teleconference that it would either be online or the president would be present. At the G7 summit, the key topics will be increasing further defense support and air defense of Ukraine. They will also discuss the development of a fighter jet coalition and the steps needed to accelerate the delivery of F-16s to the Ukrainian army. Ukraine expects “key decisions” from its allies, Nikiforov said.

The Italian newspaper Ansa reported that 15 representatives of countries and international institutions were invited to the summit.

At the end of May, the Financial Times, citing unnamed US officials, wrote that in Italy, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Joe Biden were to sign a bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and the United States.

Also, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Legal Affairs Iryna Mudra said that the G7 leaders should come up with a common position on Russian assets at the summit. They are planning to discuss the issue of a loan to Ukraine, which could be repaid with excess profits from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation.

There is currently no consensus on full confiscation, says Iryna Mudra. The United States and the United Kingdom support this position. While Germany and France are categorically against it and are looking for alternatives, such as cooperation.

The G7 summit will be followed by the Global Peace Summit on Ukraine in the Swiss city of Burgenstock. The key topic of the summit will be the Ukrainian formula for peace and ways to resolve the war unleashed by Russia.
