Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the conditions for peace talks with Russia. Currently, our state is implementing two components that can lead to peace.
In particular, it is a combination of force on the battlefield and a diplomatic settlement of the war with partners.
The President of Ukraine said this at a joint press conference with the head of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar, Channel 24 reports.
What conditions are needed for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia?
The President of Ukraine emphasized that Ukraine will decide when to start peace talks with Russia. According to Zelenskyy, if everything depended only on Ukraine, there would be no war.
Unfortunately, Putin wanted this war, and so far he does not want to end it. The diplomatic path chosen by Ukraine is our initiative, because we are a victim in this war, — the president said.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the Peace Summit has passed, and now Ukraine, together with its partners, is working on three detailed plans on energy, food security, and exchanges.
And I am sure that we will solve these issues. At least, we will prepare a detailed plan. This will happen in the near future. We will also develop all the other points of the peace formula and prepare a comprehensive plan that will be on the table for all our partners. It is very important for us to show a plan to end the war that will be supported by the majority of the world. This is a diplomatic way that we are working on, — Zelenskyy said.
The head of state also emphasized that Ukraine has recently increased production of technology, drones, electronic warfare, and artillery. This is because our soldiers must be strong on the battlefield.
We want peace, but we need to be strong. That is why we are developing our production to be strong. Because Russia does not understand anything but strength, and it does not respect anyone but the strong, — the Ukrainian leader explained.
According to the President of Ukraine, our country is developing two parallel things: to be strong on the battlefield and a peace plan that will be ready this year.
