President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in the United Kingdom for the summit of the European Political Community. Upon his arrival in the country, he was met by the Ambassador of Ukraine and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, Hromadske reports.
He posted this on his social media page.
According to the President of Ukraine, in the UK, he will have bilateral meetings with partners and sign new security agreements, as well as participate in the summit.
In addition, Zelenskyy is to meet separately with King Charles III, Prime Minister Keir Starmer, government officials, and heads of defense companies.
We will sign an intergovernmental agreement to support the Ukrainian defense industry, discuss future defense cooperation and expand our defense capabilities, – the president of Ukraine announced.
As the Guardian previously wrote, the trip will be an opportunity for Zelenskyy to meet with representatives of the newly elected Labor government. The new British prime minister, Keir Starmer, as the host of the meeting, will speak at its opening. He is expected to emphasize his country’s commitment to Ukraine, as well as to resetting relations with the EU after Brexit.
Zelenskyy also noted that from the first days of the full-scale invasion, the UK was one step ahead in its determination to support Ukraine. And it is this kind of determination that is needed to stop Russian terror.
