The United States of America will be represented at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland on June 15-16 by Vice President Kamala Harris and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.

This was announced by the White House, Babel reports.

According to the report, during her visit to Switzerland, Kamala Harris “will reaffirm the United States’ support for the people of Ukraine and emphasize the Biden administration’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s efforts to secure a just and lasting peace based on Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the principles of the UN Charter.”

“The Vice President will reaffirm her support for the people of Ukraine as they defend themselves against ongoing Russian aggression. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will join the Vice President to represent the United States at the summit”, — the White House said.

President Joe Biden will not be present, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wanted. The leader of Ukraine insisted that both Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping attend the conference. But China officially refused to send its delegation to the conference.

As for Biden, Bloomberg wrote that the US president is likely to skip the Ukrainian summit due to a planned fundraiser in California, which he is expected to attend with George Clooney, Julia Roberts and other stars.

On June 15-16, the Global Peace Summit on Ukraine will be held in the Swiss city of Burgenstock. The key topic of the summit will be the Ukrainian formula for peace and ways to resolve the war unleashed by Russia.

So far, Ukraine has received confirmation from 107 countries and organizations of their participation in the Summit
