Damage after strikes on Tuapse

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this. According to the data, the combined strikes carried out by Ukrainian forces during this period led to major financial losses. In particular, port infrastructure in Tuapse and the Tuapse oil refinery suffered damage worth more than $300 million.

These strikes targeted key facilities that Russia uses to wage its war against Ukraine. As a result, they affect not only logistics but also the broader economic capacity of the aggressor state.

Strike results and international cooperation

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received briefings from Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov and National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.

According to Zelenskyy, General Hnatov reported on Ukraine’s defensive actions and the results of long-range strikes over the past day. The president highlighted positive outcomes and thanked the Defense Forces, servicemembers, and manufacturers working to develop this capability.

Particular attention during the meeting focused on international cooperation. Rustem Umerov provided an update on the implementation of security and economic agreements with partners in the Middle East and the Gulf region. Ukraine is moving forward according to plan, Zelensky said.

In addition, Kyiv continues to advance the strategic Drone Deal initiative with the European Union.

“The day before, we discussed this in detail with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. We are developing a plan that will help strengthen Europe’s defense and cover all key security elements,” Zelenskyy wrote.

He also instructed Andrii Hnatov and Rustem Umerov to work out specific military mechanisms for cooperation with the EU under this initiative.

New attacks inside Russia

At the same time, Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory continue. Telegram channels reported new attacks on May 5. Ukrainian drones targeted sites near Gelendzhik and in Russia’s Orenburg region.

The consequences are still being clarified, and no official confirmation has been released so far.

Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that Ukrainian UAVs can now strike targets deep inside Russia at a range of up to 1,600 kilometers. This covers about a quarter of the country, where roughly 70% of its population lives.
