Ukraine can freely use tanks and armored vehicles provided by Canada in Russia, Babel reports.
This was announced the day before by the Canadian Ministry of Defense.
According to the CBC, Canada has given Ukraine a total of eight Leopard 2A4 tanks, several dozen armored combat vehicles, hundreds of armored personnel carriers and several M777 howitzers.
The day before, a Canadian-made Senator armored vehicle was captured on video crossing the Ukrainian-Russian border.
“Ukrainians know best how to defend their homeland, and we are committed to supporting their potential. Canada does not place geographic restrictions on the use of the military equipment we provide to Ukraine,” said Andre-Anne Poulin, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense.
Poulin noted that Canada’s military assistance always meets the requirements of the Arms Trade Treaty, an international agreement aimed at reducing illegal arms transfers and human rights violations.
