Speaking in Oaks, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump confirmed that Russian leader Vladimir Putin told him about his intentions to invade Ukraine and said that this would never have happened under his rule, Suspilne reports.
The Telegraph writes about it.
I get along very well with Putin. It (the invasion of Ukraine – ed.) was the apple of his eye when he talked about it, but I said: “You’re not coming in, – he told his supporters.
Trump also emphasized that he also has a good relationship with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and said that he would end the war before he was elected president.
Biden has done nothing about it – he hasn’t even spoken to Putin in over a year. This is a war that has to end, and I’m going to end it… I’m going to try to end this war as president-elect, – he continued.
At the same time, incumbent US President Joe Biden criticized Trump’s position on the war in Ukraine at the presidential debate with Trump on June 28, 2024, before withdrawing his candidacy:
Do you want World War III? Then elect Trump. If you want a war, let Putin conquer Kyiv, and then look at Poland, Hungary – there will be a war, – Biden said.
The US elections are scheduled for November 5 this year. The main competitors are former US President Donald Trump (Republican Party) and current Vice President Kamala Harris (Democratic Party).
