The draft document on the outcome of the Global Peace Summit to be held in Switzerland mentions the further limited involvement of Russian representatives.
Bloomberg writes about this with reference to a draft document to which the editorial board has access, Hromadske reports.
It is reported that the summit will focus on three important areas: nuclear and food security, as well as the return of prisoners and abducted children.
The draft document should approve the following principles:
- Nuclear energy facilities must be safe, and any threat of using nuclear weapons is “unacceptable.”
- Food security must not be “weaponized” – and be guaranteed by free navigation in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Ukraine must have access to third parties for its agricultural products.
- All captives in the war must be released, including all “deported and illegally displaced” Ukrainian children and civilians, who must be returned to Ukraine.
According to the newspaper, the summit will aim to pave the way for the involvement of Russian officials in future negotiations after an agreement on the three areas is reached.
Although Russian officials are not invited to the meeting, the document says that all sides must be involved in ending the war.
“We have therefore agreed to take concrete steps that can serve as confidence-building measures in the above areas, with the further involvement of representatives of the Russian Federation”, — Bloomberg quoted the document, which is still subject to change during the negotiations.
