Details

Syrskyi announced this on April 30 via social media. He stressed that drones now dominate the battlefield, which is changing the logic of warfare. As a result, the concepts of the front line, rear, and depth of combat formations have all transformed. At the same time, logistics have become more complicated. This applies both to movement on the battlefield and to transfers between the front line and the rear.

“To preserve the life and health of servicemembers carrying out tasks both on the line of contact and in the depth of defense, I have signed an order on mandatory rotation of troops serving on the front line,” Syrskyi wrote.

According to him, commanders must ensure conditions under which troops stay in positions for no longer than two months. After that, they must be replaced. The rotation must take place within one month at the latest.

Moreover, Syrskyi emphasized that rotations should be planned in advance. Commanders must take into account the battlefield situation, the nature of combat operations, as well as available forces and resources.

Requirements

The Commander-in-Chief noted that the order sets mandatory requirements. Servicemembers who complete combat tasks must undergo medical examinations and receive time to rest. In addition, units must ensure timely supply of ammunition and food for troops carrying out tasks on the front line.

“Timely rotation is not only a matter of organization. It is a matter of preserving the lives of our soldiers and maintaining the resilience of our defense,” Syrskyi said.

Compliance with the order will be strictly monitored. Violations will result in responsibility in accordance with current legislation and the statutes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Syrskyi added that the order is mandatory for all units performing combat tasks on the front line.

Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that on April 29, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out overnight and morning strikes on Russia’s oil logistics facilities. In particular, they hit the sanctioned tanker “MARQUISE” in the Black Sea. They also attacked an oil hub in Russia’s Perm region, located more than 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine’s border.
