On Sunday, September 8, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called for accelerating peace efforts in the war in Ukraine, Espreso reports.
He said this in an interview with ZDF.
I believe that now is the time to discuss how we can get out of this situation of war as soon as possible and achieve peace, – Scholz said.
In addition, Olaf Scholz expressed his belief that the upcoming peace conference on Ukraine should be held with the participation of Russia. He emphasized that he agrees with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on this issue.
There will definitely be another peace summit, – Scholz emphasized, without specifying the date.
He added that he had “agreed with Zelenskyy” that a peace conference “should also be held with Russia”.
In late July, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a peace plan would be ready by the end of November this year, preceded by a series of negotiations with various countries on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
And on August 27, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, said that the specific date and venue for the second Peace Summit would be known after a joint plan for implementing the Peace Formula was created.
