The Ukrainian Review presents the fifth issue of its English-language journal, dedicated to one of the defining qualities of modern Ukraine—the resilience of its people. The print run totals 10,000 copies. The magazine will be showcased at international events across Europe. In particular, it was already presented at the PACE session in September. The goal of this issue is to share the truth about Ukraine with the world. It highlights the country’s resistance, its partnerships, and its path to recovery.

Ukrainian Resilience in Times of Trial
The team prepared this edition to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day. During wartime, this date has become a symbol of the personal choice each citizen makes. Despite daily threats, the country grows stronger and more unified. The events of recent years have hardened society, proving that Ukrainians know how to withstand pressure, preserve unity, and continue developing democratic institutions even under the toughest circumstances.
The fifth issue offers readers a comprehensive view of Ukraine: stories of soldiers, insights into the work of state institutions, business, and civil society, analysis of key political decisions, and perspectives from international partners who share the belief in Ukraine’s victory.

Society, Army, Technology
Resilience is revealed through the daily actions of people and across all fronts of resistance.
The magazine features stories of soldiers, volunteers, and civic leaders who defend the country, support communities, and help others endure. Their experiences show that people build democracy not only through laws but also through their conscious choice of freedom and responsibility.
A dedicated section explores the challenges of modern warfare: drone technologies, cybersecurity, and digital resilience. Ukrainian engineers and IT specialists are reshaping the rules of combat by introducing innovations that protect infrastructure, state systems, and businesses. The digital sphere has become one of the decisive battlegrounds where Ukraine demonstrates adaptability and technological leadership.

International Support and Partnerships
Ukrainian resilience also relies on strong and confident partnerships. This issue highlights the role of allies in strengthening Ukraine’s defense—from providing weapons and equipment to financial programs and political backing.
The materials focus on cooperation with the EU, Canada, the United States, and other countries that help deter aggression. They also support Ukraine’s path toward European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
The issue includes a wide range of analytical materials and interviews. Many of them focus on the international context of the war and Russia’s actions against Ukraine. It emphasizes the existential nature of the confrontation. It also highlights the importance of comprehensive support for Ukraine across military, diplomatic, and technological fronts.

Between History and Resistance
The authors of this issue explore not only today’s realities but also the deeper roots of Ukrainian identity—centuries of struggle for freedom and the country’s natural European orientation.
Several articles show how international media reported on Ukraine at pivotal moments in history and explain why we must understand today’s confrontation as a clash between democracy and dictatorship.

Message to World
The fifth issue of The Ukrainian Review presents Ukraine as it is today—modern, strong, democratic, open to the world, and unbreakable. Resilience is no longer simply a national trait; it is a way of life that shapes the country’s future.
We, the team of The Ukrainian Review, believe that this issue will help international readers better understand that Ukraine’s resistance is a fight for freedom, dignity, and the rules that safeguard the democratic world. And this struggle continues—on the military, diplomatic, technological, and humanitarian fronts.
