Biden’s withdrawal from the race
On July 21, Joe Biden announced that he was withdrawing his candidacy from the presidential election.
He added that it was in the best interests of his party and the country for him to focus solely on fulfilling his duties as president for the remainder of his term.
The American president promised to elaborate on his decision later. The US President thanked the members of his campaign team and US Vice President Kamala Harris for “being an incredible partner in all of this work.”
After that, Harris announced that she intends to run for the US presidency instead of Joe Biden.
