U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran is using artificial intelligence to create disinformation about alleged attacks on American ships and military equipment.

Iranian fakes
The U.S. president published the accusations in a post on the social network Truth Social. According to Trump, Tehran is actively using information manipulation to create the impression of military success.
“Iran has long been known as a Master of Media Manipulation and Public Relations. They are militarily ineffective and weak, but are really good at ‘feeding’ the very appreciative Fake News Media false information,” Trump wrote.
He claims Iran is showing fabricated videos and images, including footage of so-called “Kamikaze Boats” allegedly attacking ships at sea. According to him, such vessels do not exist. Trump also denied reports that U.S. aerial refueling aircraft had been destroyed.
“The five U.S. Refueling Planes that were supposedly struck down and badly damaged (…) are all in service, with the exception of one, which will soon be flying the skies,” he said.
Trump also mentioned a video that allegedly shows the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln on fire. According to him, the footage is fake and was also created using artificial intelligence.
“Not only was it not burning, it was not even shot at,” Trump wrote.
He also said Iran knows better than to attack the ship.
Criticism of U.S. media
Trump accused American media outlets of spreading false information and called for an investigation. Among the outlets he mentioned was The Wall Street Journal. He also welcomed the actions of Brendan Carr, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, who is reviewing the licenses of some media organizations.
“They get billions of dollars of free American airwaves and use it to perpetuate lies both in news and in almost all of their shows,” Trump wrote.
Context
In recent days, images and videos allegedly showing strikes on U.S. military facilities and ships have circulated online. Trump claims these materials are part of an Iranian information campaign. Its point, according to him, is to exaggerate the country’s military capabilities.
Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has been showing decreasing interest in negotiations aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. At the same time, the American leader’s attention is now largely focused on the conflict with Iran.
