The Czech Republic has officially joined the international Drone Coalition, which provides the Armed Forces of Ukraine with drones, Babel reports.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Latvia. Latvia, along with the United Kingdom, are the leaders of this coalition.

The report says that the Czech Republic joined after its delegation signed a memorandum of understanding during the 75th anniversary NATO summit in Washington, D.C., on July 11.

The coalition now includes Australia, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom in addition to Latvia, Britain, and the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is now the 16th member.

During the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., the member countries of the Drone Coalition signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate cooperation and develop unmanned technologies in Ukraine. This should also enhance the defense capabilities of the Allies. As part of the memorandum, the Allies agreed to create a €45 million joint fund and agreed on plans to supply Ukraine with one million FPV drones.

The Drone Coalition for Ukraine was launched on February 17, 2024, as part of the work of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense (Ramstein format). The initiative was co-lead by Latvia and the United Kingdom. The task of the coalition is to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with unmanned systems and help with production.
