US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has canceled a planned trip to Germany later this week. This happened after US President Joe Biden said he was postponing the planned visit because of Hurricane Milton, Radio Svoboda reports.

On October 8, White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said that Joe Biden canceled his trips to Angola and Germany on October 10-15 due to the approach of Hurricane Milton to oversee US preparations for the hurricane. In Germany, he was supposed to chair the Ramstein meeting.

Also, according to State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, Blinken was supposed to accompany Biden, but given the new circumstances, he will now return to the United States from Laos.

Biden was scheduled to arrive in Germany on Thursday evening, October 10. In Berlin, he was scheduled to meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Olaf Scholz. On October 12, Biden was scheduled to travel to Rhineland-Palatinate, where a meeting on Ukraine was to take place at the Ramstein Air Force Base.

The US president was also supposed to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy there.

Earlier, the Ukrainian president said that during the 25th meeting in the Ramstein format (October 12), Ukraine would present a victory plan to all partners.
