Defense Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced this on his Telegram channel.

Starlink Verification for Security

The measure aims to prevent Russian drones from using Starlink. They fly low and resist electronic warfare. Operators control these drones in real time even over long distances.

According to Fedorov, the only technical solution to these threats involves authorizing all terminals and implementing a “white list.” The Ukrainian government carries out this plan in cooperation with SpaceX.

How Terminals Will Register

Civilian users can register easily: one visit to the nearest CNAP suffices, free of charge and without extra bureaucracy. Businesses can register online via the Diia portal.

Military personnel do not need to visit CNAP. The Armed Forces use a separate secure channel through DELTA. They do not need to assign terminals to military units or share account data. They only add terminals to the “white list” to prevent blocking.

Context

Recently, the founder of SpaceX took measures to stop Russian occupation forces from using Starlink satellite internet.

At that time, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov confirmed the effectiveness of implemented countermeasures. He also emphasized Kyiv’s continued cooperation with the SpaceX team on further protection steps.

Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that Polish Minister Radoslaw Sikorsky urged Elon Musk to fully block Russia’s access to Starlink systems for attacks on Ukraine.
