President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the Ramstein air base to participate in a meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s defense.
This was announced by the head of state, Babel reports.
At the air base, he will meet with US and German Defense Ministers Lloyd Austin and Boris Pistorius. Separately, the president will hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
We need the determination of our partners and the means to stop Russian air terror. We need all the weapons from the already announced support packages to finally reach the combat brigades. And we need strong, long-range decisions from our partners to bring the just peace we seek closer, – Zelenskyy said.
Afterward, Zelenskyy is scheduled to visit Italy for the International Economic Forum and meet with Prime Minister George Maloney.
Today, on September 6, the 24th meeting of the Ramstein format to help Ukraine is taking place at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
Earlier, we wrote that Zelenskyy plans to “describe the gravity of the situation” during his visit to the meeting of defense ministers in Berlin. The Ukrainian president also wants to ask his partners for fresh supplies of weapons for his army, including long-range missiles and additional air defense systems.
